TUfast · MotoStudent ElectricStudents from TUM designing, building and racing an electric motorcycle, from the first CAD sketch to the MotoGP track in Aragón.

Built in Garching.
Raced in Aragón.
Four sub-teams, one motorcycle. Scroll on and each team takes its parts off the bike.

Shaped by the air
Every curve of the fairing is worked out in CFD first. The same shell has to guide cooling air to the battery and motor without costing speed on the straight.
Fairing

The backbone
Main frame, subframe, tail and every mounting in between: designed in CAD and built in our own workshop. It has to carry the battery, take the loads of the swingarm and still leave room for everyone else’s parts.
Main frame · Tail & seat

Grip at 200 km/h
Suspension, triple clamps, wheels, chain and brakes. Running Gear sets the bike up so it stays calm on the brakes into Aragón’s first corner and keeps its line on the way out.
Fork & front wheel · Rear wheel · Swingarm

40 kW, 100 Nm
Battery pack, BMS, inverter, charger, wiring harness and CAN bus. E-Technology turns stored energy into torque at the rear wheel, safely, efficiently and lap after lap.
Battery pack & BMS · Motor & inverter
Two years.
One motorcycle.
We at TUfast | Moto electric are a department of the TUfast student association. As part of the MotoStudent Competition, we design and construct a new electric motorcycle in a two-year season, manufacture it in our workshops, and test it on Europe’s racetracks before the FIM homologated university race on the MotoGP track in Aragón.
We drive forward pioneering technology and point motorcycle racing towards a cleaner future for the generations after us.
Electromobility, interdisciplinary teamwork and our own workshop: everything goes into one highly energy-efficient motorcycle for the racetrack.
“Life is like a motorcycle race. It’s not about how fast you go, but how well you take the corner.”
Valentino Rossi
